Would You Imagine Yourself When You’re Older?

If I ask you, “Do you wish to get old?” I assume no one wants to get old, right? All of us wants to stay young. Especially women. Women are much more health conscious than males are. Once they reach the age of 30 above, they became insecure of what their look might be. They really want their body to stay firm, as it was when they were still in their younger years. Some women would also experience plastic surgeries just for them to feel and look beautiful and young.

The thing is that, the majority within the middle ages and older would like to stay young. But, can we really stop what exactly is destined to happen to us? Let’s just accept the reality that we, as human, will end up old and soon will die. The Majority Of People are frightened with this reality. But we cannot do any about it. This is life. This isn’t permanent that’s why it’s very important to accept anything that could happen to us and that we must cherish every moment of our life. We can’t turn back time.

However, we cannot blame individuals who just want to stay young. When your young, you can do anything that you wish to since your body is still able to do so. You aren’t getting sick that easily, still you can walk fast and you still can go on an adventure without getting your body hurt that easily. When you’re old there would be a lots of restriction for you, you will feel many pain in your body and maybe you will take plenty of medicines. I guess many people would not want those things to happen.

Let’s just accept this reality. It’s where life is taking us. To ACCEPT the truth will be a way for us to still become happy even if we’re already aging. We need to accept every changes in our life. When we get old, it does not show that we cannot be contented in life. It is actually a part of the cycle of life.

Michael j. gelb had a short article about aging and on how people would improve their minds, as they age. According to him, the most effective way to help yourself accept the reality of life is by the serenity prayer.

The the serenity prayer is really a manner in which will help people who are getting older. This is for them to accept the cycle of life and for them to give encouragement that they are still deserving to be happy while they’re aging already. It helps them accept every changes in their body and changes in their lifestyle. With that, they’re letting the divine consciousness flow in their mind and body to experience a peaceful life with God, who would help them guide their life as they get old.
