Have you tried the Law of Attraction and failed to get your desired outcome? With the best intentions, most people unwittingly put the Law of Attraction to work against themselves. Three Unfortunate Errors and Simple Remedies by Thinking Success

1. Setting a goal that’s too big. This can unwittingly lead to failure. Your goals need to be big enough to motivate you, and modest enough to be believable. For instance, if you decide on a goal to become financially free and you don’t believe it will ever happen, you’ll begin to find yourself thinking about it not happening and this is precisely what you’ll get.

Remedy: With a big goal in mind, focus your attention on a short term goal that you can believe is possible. Maybe you could aspire to increase your income by 5 or 10% each month by building a home business with the long term goal of achieving financial freedom. Once you achieve your initial goal, you can step it up further.

2. Focusing on things that aren’t working right now. Maybe you hope to great wealth because you are unhappy with your current situation. Concentrating on your dissatisfaction is a clear way to experience more of what you don’t want.

Remedy: Focus your thinking on what you DO want. To build on the previous example, think as frequently as possible about increasing your income by 5 or 10% with your own business. Notice when you deviate from thinking about what you want and course correct as soon as you can. “I’m happy to have a job on the path to an amazing future.”

3. Failing to Take action. A goal with no action is just a pie in the sky. It’s surprising how many people wait for someone to come along and hand a bright future to them. While this is a wonderful dream, you can’t rely on it as a substitute for doing the work. The natural result of setting a goal that motivates you that you believe in is feeling inspired to take action, a willingness to do whatever it takes to reach your goal.

Remedy: Enlist the courage to reach into the unknown and take action to make your dreams come true. You’re worth it, no matter what other people might say. As the expression says, feel the fear and do it anyway.

As Thoreau once said, “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.”
