Text Your Ex Back – Here’s 5 Things To Help You Repair Your Relationship Through Texts
Attempting to text your ex back after a separation is never easy . You take your smartphone out, begin hitting buttons, and then your brain abruptly gets packed with anxiety, questions, and insecurities.
Your brain becomes stuffed with worries such as:
1. If I text my ex the wrong message will it frighten him or her away for good?
2. Should I apologize for many of the things I did wrong?
3. How am I going to reply if they write me back?
4. If they don’t reply to my text, should I just quit or send them another message?
5. Have I given the split up enough time? Do I need to wait even longer? What if I’m just hurting and giving in too easily?
6. Will a message make my ex excited to hear from me or just make me come across as needy and desperate?
And thousands more…
Pretty soon you feel paralyzed and you just sit there holding your mobile phone in your grip, not figuring out what to do or say.
What you experience are the same feelings many people encounter after a split. It’s common. It’s okay. Today I’m going to reveal some tips with you about sending those all important first texts to help you get your ex back.
Before you try to text your ex back after a break up, there are a few key things you’ll want to take into account. Your very first text messages will be incredibly important.
Your text messages can help you reconnect with your ex or they can make your ex run for the hills…and never return.
Here are 5 tips to consider prior to transmitting that all important first text message to your ex:
1. A period of no contact is always a excellent idea.
Many relationship professionals suggest a no contact period of 3 to 4 weeks after a split up, and texting is no different. Make sure getting back together is honestly what you want. It’s common to feel depressed and lonely after a break up, but that’s not a realistic reason to get back together with someone who isn’t a good fit for you.
2. Now is not the time to focus on the previous relationship.
Your first texts need to have a positive tone. The truth is, your past relationship is over and is never coming back. You need to try and open your ex to the thought of being in a new, better relationship with you.
3. Don’t beg, plead, apologize repeatedly, or tell them things like “I’ve changed”.
If you beg, plead or apologize you’ll give the impression of being needy and weak. These are not the type of traits that will make your ex want to date you again.
4. No response isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Not receiving a response to your first few text messages is completely normal. If you get a response, awesome. If you don’t, there’s no need to stress. Your first few texts shouldn’t call for any response from your ex.
5. Post texts with an objective.
What do you want from your ex? What are you trying to gain by each text you transmit? It’s important to have a goal in mind before you try to text your ex back. In his ebook Text Your Ex Back, Michael Fiore mentions “nothing texts” and why you should steer clear of them. Keep reading to uncover more about what these are.
What Are Nothing Texts In The First Place?
As Michael tells us, a nothing text is” … a text that doesn’t actually SAY anything and doesn’t leave any “hooks” for positive interaction.” These are texts such as “Wassup” or “How’s it going?” (you may already be guilty of sending these).
Learning how to text your ex back is something you want to get right in the beginning because when it comes to break ups, there isn’t always a second opportunity.
