Tips to end your smoking habit
People who have a smoking habit often find it difficult to quit. They understand the health implications associated with smoking and may have progressed to the point of admitting they have a problem that needs to be fixed, but just can’t seem to get past that point. Here are some ways which are very helpful for those who want to get rid of this problematic habit.
1) Prepare yourself to finally end this habit by setting a specific date to start the quitting process. It takes time for your mind to build the confidence it needs to overcome the addiction. Setting a firm date will help.
2) Let your family know of your intentions. Family members act as a great support group. They will be there to talk and offer advice if you need it.
3) Visualize your goal. Visualization is very much important in eradicating your habit. Imagining a healthier life, smoke free, will help you hit that goal.
4) Find a healthier habit to adopt during the quitting process. When you feel that you need to smoke chew a piece of gum or suck on a straw! Anything that will keep your mouth busy during this time.
5) Get active. The more active you are, the less time you have to think about smoking.
