Tips To End a Nail Biting Habit
Despite the fact that nail biting is not a life threatening bad habit as most others are, it is still an annoying and unhealthy habit that should be changed. Here are some tactics designed to end your nail biting days:
- Use a nail biting cream on the nails and fingers as well. These creams have a horribly bad taste which irritates the taste buds and will help you end your problem.
- Women might find it helpful to polish their nails to stop their habit. It sounds silly, but it really is effective as a mental redirection strategy. Basically you trick your mind into thinking about how pretty your nails look with that polish as opposed to how badly you want to bite your nails. This helps you establish an “if …., then ….” mindset of IF I bite my nails, THEN my nail polish job won’t look so good anymore.
- Self hypnosis is another popular option among nail biters.
