But, when the year starts, they either tend to ignore or forget everything and remain in their previous state! In this article, you will come to know about the five stages which are helpful in changing your bad habits.
1) The Pre-contemplative stage. In the first stage, you have pre-contemplation in which you don’t want to accept that you have a problem. You may have lots of bad habits which need to be changed but may not wish to consider them significant enough to change.
2) The Contemplative Stage. This is where things start to step in the right direction. You have accepted that you have a problem worth fixing and have made a conscientious decision to do something about it. You study yourself and examine the best way to eradicate the problem.
3) Planning for Change. By collecting the information, you prepare for the next stage where you plan for changing yourself. You prepare yourself by implementing small changes step by step toward your goal.
4) The Action Stage. This is where you actually move to the big change and try to make your action plan successful. If you feel that you are not succeeding then don’t loose heart, it can take time to eliminate bad habits.
5) Maintenance. Once you start to see results, you can’t just stop. You have to maintain your strategy to shield against future problems.
